Copyright Registration

Pursuant to the Berne Convention, the following key requirements are mandatory for copyright registration authorities (a full list of requirements is available from authorised regional operators):

Public access
International publication
Publication after approval of the author

MARIS DD provides a publicly accessible online link to the deposited work, enabling access to the relevant copyright information via the internet through a dedicated server repository — thereby satisfying any reasonable public interest in reviewing the registered copyright object.

MARIS DD ensures the international publication of the deposited copyrighted work via the internet. In accordance with the requirements of the Berne Convention, a work is deemed to have been published simultaneously in multiple countries for the purposes of international recognition if it has been published in two or more countries within thirty days of its first publication.

MARIS DD enters into public agreements (through authorised regional operators) with authors and accepts applications in which authors expressly confirm their authorisation for the transfer of the work to the depository for the purposes of registration.

Protection Of The Intellectual Property Using Copyright Registration Service.

The main concern in the copyright is not an announcement of the author, because it could be done almost free of charge through sending by author the created work in the sealed envelope by any post services to himself.

The practice of sending a copy of your own work to yourself is called a “poor man’s copyright.” There is no provision in international or local copyright laws regarding any such type of protection, and it is not a substitute for registration.

The most important problem during the protection of copyright owner rights (in case of violations) is to provide for official bodies and commercial banks (in case of royalty payments) with a sufficient level of evidentiary form regarding created IP-work, authors, rightsholders, date of priority, etc.
